The Purpose of the Internship programme is to offer graduates (diploma/degree) who have no previous working experience the opportunity to obtain practical workplace experience and exposure.

Job description

The Council of the University of Johannesburg has declared the University as a mandatory vaccination site as per the applicable policy ((https://www.uj.ac.za/covid-19/). All applications and offers of employment is dependent upon compliance with the said policy.

Key areas of work to be fulfilled

Perm and Temp processes

· Applying for employee Tax numbers

· Check and verify all documentation from Resourcing

· Employee confirmation letters upon request

· Compile UIF Reports and Certificate of service for ex-employees.

· Final control of all input for the month (QA)

· Assist and with various mini projects within the HR Administration unit

· Populate all standard letters pertaining to, Visa Letter, Confirmation Letter, Employment Letters, and Maternity Leave.

Records Management

· Assisting with electronic and Manual filing that comes from the different units in HR

· Backlog on Resourcing Documentation

· Indexing Documentation

· Declaration of Interest downloading and checking

· Increase letters filing

Minimum requirements

Degree/Diploma in the field of Human Resources Management.

Criteria for selection of candidates:

Graduates between the ages of 18 and 35.
Not studying full time (preferably attending after hours classes).
Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
Have NOT participated in any Learnership/Internship programme before.
Be willing to commit to the Internship for the period of 6 months.
